Nyjah Huston Wins Third Street League in a Row in Glendale, Arizona

Nyjah Huston won his third Street League in a row at the Glendale, Ariz., stop, which took place this weekend. Ryan Sheckler came in a close second. "[Sheckler] definitely gave me some great competition," Huston said. "He's an awesome skater."

Chris Cole won the best trick of the contest -- a 360 flip to 50-50 on the hubba ledge -- and finished third.

In the tech section, skaters are given seven tries to perform their best trick. After flailing on a kickflip back Smith on the kinked rail, Huston regrouped and did a kickflip backside lipslide. Cole stomped a backside 360 lipslide on the same kinked rail, and Luan Oliveira, who ended up seventh, came through with a slew of technical tricks like a switch tailslide switch heelflip out on the ledge. Fourth place Paul Rodriguez squeaked his way into the line section with a switch backside tailslide switch heel to regular. Eric Koston and Chaz Ortiz were eliminated in the tech section.

Huston was ahead of the pack heading into the line section, but the battle between him and Sheckler was fierce until the end. Sheckler did a line that ended with long feeble to back Smith on the bump to bar. Huston answered back with a kickflip backside 50-50ing the square out rail and bigspin frontside boardsliding the round flat rail off the stairs.

Sheckler continued to stomp tricks like a massive 360 flip down the stairs and a fakie frontside flip. When Sheckler fell backside 360ing the stairs, Huston advanced his lead with a crooked grind down the hubba ledge. On Sheckler's last attempt, he spun his backside 360, landed, but at the last moment slipped out, securing Huston's third consecutive Street League win.

At this third stop of the 2011 Street League, the hubba ledge was bigger and the stairs were longer than at the two previous Street Leagues, held in Seattle and Kansas City, Mo., earlier this summer.

The Street League Championships take place in Newark, N.J., on Aug. 28. "I'll just keep trying to do what I'm doing," Huston said about the final stop. "That's the main one I'm trying to win."

Chad Muska -- Hurls 'N' Word During Gnarly Arrest

Pro skating legend Chad Muska was arrested for allegedly vandalizing two buildings last night in Hollywood -- and repeatedly dropped the "N" word on the security guards who nabbed him.

Muska was first detained by security at the Roosevelt Hotel around 2AM. Law enforcement sources tell us Muska was seen spray painting his name on a nearby Coffee Bean.

While security guards waited for LAPD officers to arrive -- Muska demanded the guards let him go, and called them "ni**as" several times ... including one instance in which he said, "Fu** all these ni**as right here."

LAPD eventually showed up and arrested and booked Muska for felony vandalism -- and our sources say Muska had tagging materials on him when he was arrested.

We got shots of Muska's alleged handiwork at the coffee shop -- "Muska"' -- and also at Hollywood's El Capitan Theater ... "Muska kills.

Julian Wilson wins Quik Pro Portugal

For the first time in about a month, a non-Brazilian has stepped onto the winner's podium of a major event, and it was Australia's world tour rookie Julian Wilson.

The dashing young regularfoot had been a standout all event, posting some of the biggest scores of the contest, including a 9.8 and a 9.57 in the final to seal the victory. Medina was left comboed for most of the heat. His 19.37 heat total in the final would be the highest of the entire event. Mr/ Wilson chose a great time to peak today.

The waves were lumpy but reforming into fun walls on certain sets. Julian was able to nab two big rights that walled all the way through to the sand. Gabriel Medina of Brazil never found a good rhythm in the final, despite landing a ridiculous frontside rotator (check the vid) on a funky left. Medina came pretty close to claiming his second Prime event in two months coming off his victory in Brazil. The kid's having quite a year.

Stop 1: GRC Marcus Grönholm of Finland , Super Rally Winner

Marcus Grönholm of Finland won friday's Super Rally event at The Revolution, the first round of the 2011 Global RallyCross Championship, held at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, Calif. Super Rally features two rally cars on the same course, battling wheel to wheel in a best-two-of-three showdown.

"Today had a difficult start because I haven't driven the car in a while. The start is very important, and I did not have good starts today." said Grönholm, a two time World Rally Champion, after the podium. "You have to just stay on your line, and if you are bumped, you try to go where you want."

During the finals, Grönholm faced off against European rallycross veteran Michael Jernberg. The two were incredibly tight through both heats, bumping against each other in the final corner before the finish, jostling for the lead. Jernberg took second place, ahead of Tanner Foust in third.

"We had a few technical problems today, but we fixed the car," said Jernberg of his Czech-manufactured Skoda Fabia. "The car doesn't have much power in the slow, tight corners, so it is difficult to drive."

 

Marcus Grönholm had a strong showing on Friday.

 

Foust suffered car trouble during the semifinals, nearly failing to make the podium at all, but the team was able to fix the car. This allowed Foust to beat his Olsberg teammate Pontus Tidemand, who finished fourth.

"I'm excited. This is the first time two rally cars have been run on the same course at the same time, side by side," said Foust. "The two-lap format doesn't give a lot of time to build an advantage."

As the morning rain and clouds burned off, the track at Irwindale dried up, and drivers found the grip improving. That became vital for the gravel sections.

"There are three acceleration points on the course that happen at low speed on gravel, so you really need to set up for grip on gravel," said Rhys Millen, driver of the Red Bull Hyundai Veloster.

Both Hyundai cars ran well early in the day, but during quarterfinals, both drivers were eliminated.
In the 2WD action, Dillon Van Way took first place in his Ford Focus. Van Way campaigned the Focus to a 2WD Rally America title in 2009, and loved the format of Super Rally.

"I used to race supermoto, and this is basically the same sort of thing, but in a car," said Van Way. "I love it!"

Second place went to Matthew Johnson in a Mazda RX-8. The car is very new to Johnson, who had problems through the day, including a transmission that stuck in second gear.

"That car is like one big fight, you really have to work," said Johnson, who also had steering difficulty through the day.

Randy Zimmer finished in third, in his carbon fiber-bodied Mazda Miata. Zimmer has been building the car over the last 11 weeks.

"It was a long road to get here," said Zimmer. "You really need to be in this series from the start."
Super Rally sees the cars on the same course, but there are two different lines in the middle section: a main line and the "joker," a b-line each competitor must take on one lap of each race. Drivers complete two laps in each race, and the driver who finishes with the best two out of three advances to the next round.

For Colorado driver Jimmy Keeney, the event ended during elimination rounds, when he came up short on the jump, rolling end over end and spinning on the nose of the car. Keeney was examined by medical staff and is okay, but the car was heavily damaged, and can not be repaired before tomorrow's races.

The Revolution continues tomorrow morning, with the debut of rallycross, where fans can watch six cars compete head to head in each race. Drivers will have to fight for position, where even the slightest mistake could put teams out of contention.

Supercross Champ 'Bubba' Stewart's Arrest -- FIRST Photos

TMZ has obtained photos of Supercross star James "Bubba" Stewart being hauled off in handcuffs after his arrest for impersonating an officer in Florida.

According to his website -- Bubba tried stopping a vehicle using flashing red and blue lights while driving his 2008 Toyota Tundra in Orlando last Sunday night.

Unfortunately for Stewart, that car was full of off-duty troopers ... and he was arrested and charged with impersonating an officer.

Stewart was released on bail.
