Nike 6.0 Stairset Battle Tour 2010/11
 - Tour Stop #8

It keeps getting bigger and better! The 8th stop of the Nike 6.0 Stairset Battle Tour on 29 January 2011 at Kronplatz in Italy brought perfect conditions and a record turnout of 1,300 spectators. A total of 36 of the region’s best riders threw down their best tricks on this second-to-last tour stop before the big final.

Under sunny skies and with pleasant temperatures just around 0°C, Kronplatz offered up a variety of slopes and a Nike 6.0-supported fun park. The center of attention was once again the stairset, placed right at the gondola’s valley stop in plain view of all the après ski bars.

With 360s both ways and a variety of tricks not seen on the tour so far - including a Hardway BS 270 - the riders fought hard for the ticket to the Nike 6.0 Air & Style.

Because this is one of the last stops - and the last chances to qualify for the Big Final - a variety of international riders entered the battle.

Jesse Augustinus from Holland came in 3rd place. Second place went to Nejc Ferjan from Slovenia, who impressed the judges with a super clean BS 180 to Switch 50-50 Cab 360 off and a BS 360 to 50-50.

Blasting into first place, Flo Achenrainer from Austria nailed a Cab 360 to 50-50, FS 360 to 50-50 and the first Hardway BS 270 to Boardslide of the tour. This has earned Flo a ticket to the Big Final of the Tour at Nike 6.0 Air&Style 2011 in Munich on February 12th, 2011, where he will compete against the other winners of the Tour, and the world’s best jibbers.

“I am super happy to have been part of this event and looking forward to give my best together with all the big pros in front of so many spectators,” said a delighted Flo. The finals at Munich Olympic Stadium will be a Best Trick Rail Battle for a total purse of $20,000 in front of 25,000 spectators!

After the latest tour stop, the stair set will become integrated into the fun park at Kronplatz for the locals to enjoy. With only one more tour stop left to go, we can’t wait to see who the last qualifier for the final will be - and what kind of tricks the next battle will bring!
